On my second visit to this restaurant I was immediately struck by the design changes in the bar. Very cool. I had the Pilsner draft beer and my date tried a glass of south african house wine. I had the Jalfrezi chicken, very hot and tasty. My friend tried the shrimp Korma, with a slightly sweet taste and very mild. The butter Naan was superb. This restaurant just keeps getting better.

A fantastic meal again. As close as you can get to the real home cooked stuff. Worth the price. A great bar too. Will conitinue to go.

I went on a Tuesday night with a colleague, it wasn't very busy but my colleague had read the good reviews on trip advisor before. We weren't disappointed, the drinks were amazing and the curry was really good, just the right amount. The naan (peshwari) was without a doubt the best i've had, and the curry had just the right amount of spice. The decor is really cool and the menus are really fancy- even the receipt came with some bling!! Loved it- and great service too.

We love indian food and recently were informed of this one so we had to go try it. Although not an avid reviewer, I felt it was necessary for me to make a comment about my experience. We went in expecting great cuisine, but instead were very dissapointed. The food was not at all tasteful, lacked flavour, the service was slow and somehow seemed angry. We found it to be a bit expensive for our taste, and didnt get our moneys worth at all. Definitely try something else, such as the pind, which has amazing food, service and ambiance.

Shalamar is a great local restaurant serving up very tasty and fresh food. Being a local of Dejvice, and having recently relocated to Prague from London, I am always on the lookout for restaurants within a walking distance from home.
My husband and I decided to try Shalamar last night after reading positive reviews on expats.cz as well as tripadvisor.com and we were definitely not disappointed!
We ordered the Handi Lamb Bhunna which came with a free side of plain naan (which we changed to garlic naan) as well as the butter chicken together, an order of peshwari naan, cucumber raita and masala papadum.
All in all, the service was friendly and efficient, the décor errs on the side of traditional, but most importantly the food was superb. We will definitely be frequenting this restaurant in the near future considering its close proximity to home.

It is difficult to find good food for an affordable price in Prague 6. Shalamar delivers on both regards. You can find two absolutely delicious daily menus, vegetarian or non-vegetarian, for 79Kc or 109Kc. Recently they added free second servings, which makes their lunches even more attractive. Add to that that they have a great selection of teas, traditional himalayan drinks, or fresh tapped Pilsner if you prefer beer (like me) and you have a great meal for a great value.

I love Shalamar. The owner is a charming guy - if you get a chance, be sure to ask him to order your dinner for you - he'll ask you what you like and what you don't and then he'll fire off a bunch of orders to his colleagues, and the results are always better than what I would come up with myself. The price is reasonable.
Lunches include soup and unlimited extra helpings - probably the best lunch deal in Dejvice.
Highly recommend!

Those of us lucky enough to live on or near Puskinovo namesti have been blessed by the opening of Shalamar this year. Shalamar is a celebration to the ancient art of cooking in and around the Himalayas. The meat is Halal, served on the bone in order to ensure the most flavor. The ingredients are fresh, the rice is of the highest quality, and the spices are used with knowledge and care. The owner and staff are friendly and passionate about their food and are eager to describe the elaborate cooking processes involved in the creation of their meals. The decor, from the cushions on the chairs to the pictures on the walls has been chosen in order to provide an authentic experience. Shalamar has already won an eclectic following of passionate foodies.
