This is the best Indian restaurant in Prague i have ever been. Food is excellent, really very tasty, delicious...:-) I also love Indian Masala tea and it was really excellent there. Staff was very friendly, smiling, everytime very helpfull. There is also nice outdoor seating, this location is very lovely. I cannot find any other words to explain all the positives. You have to experience it and enjoy this special time in special restaurant with special people.

Service was good
The food was ok nothing special
The credit card machine did not work
The decoration is somehow quite "cold"
Honestly, I don't know why this restaurant is so highly rated
Was there for dinner about 3 weeks ago, beginning of Feb 2011.

The Indian Jewel restaurant is a real hidden gem near the Old Town Square! I have been living in Prague for more than 12 years and being British, appreciate good Indian food. We have been visiting the Indian Jewel since 2009. This restaurant is a perfect place to entertain business clients and guests due to the warm ambience and good service; needless to say that it has excellent authentic cuisine. Though this is a little more expensive than other Indian restaurants in Prague but it is worth every penny. I would recommend it as the best Indian food in townÂ…Cheers!!

Me and my wife have eaten there a few times and each time the food was excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. It is a place where you can feel the real Indian atmosphere although you are in the centre of Prague.

Being vegetarians we got to chose only a few of their offerings but found these well prepared and to our taste. The service was excellent. Our friends who chose other non-Veg dishes agreed with us on both on taste and service. Will come again ! ---Riya

The food is amazing! I go to the Indian Jewel for lunch and it is the finest Indian cuisine I have found here in Prague. The food is so good! with my favorite being the Saag, Butter Chicken and Dahl. In the centre, it is great place to stop by to eat. The ingredients and spices used there are unique to Prague, as all ingredients are imported directly from India. They also have a Tandoor, unique to Prague, being the only Indian restaurant here in Prague that has this. The interior is warm and very beautiful, from its traditional Indian copper cups and dining ware, to its Indian art and artifacts around the walls decorating the interior. Its authenticity is what I find most attractive. It is always a lovely and welcoming visit and I am most certain for all who intend to visit.

Indian Jewel is the best place for original Indian food. Most satisfying for travelling Indians looking for authentic Indian Cuisine. Made to suit each customers need for Indian food and the spices. Situated in a lovely spot at the City center easy walking distance from most Prague Sights with a relaxing garden to sit in (weather permitting). Wish them the best for all success and thank them for makiing us comfortable with there excellent Indian Service.

We went with some friends to Indian Jewel, which is located very centrally in this beautiful square behind Tyn Church at Old Town Square. We were greeted by this girl who was very helpful and with a ready smile and spoke fluent Czech as well as good English.
The food was excellent! We ordered some Tandoori Starters which the cook made in the open tandoor in the restaurant and we could see him. For the main course we ordered Lamb Roganjosh, Aloo-gobhi, daal makhani and saag paneer. The bread came hot and straight from the tandoor!! All the food was perfect with the right amount of spice and seasoning.
I have travelled many times to India and tried various restaurants there but this is the best food we have ever eaten. The service is attentive and pleasant and they take care of you which is rare in Prague! We are really lucky to have found this restaurant which was recommended by a colleague. It is perfect to entertain friends and business colleagues.

The Indian Jewel was a good Indian Restaurant with better than average Indian food, but of late, the Chef has changed and now their Chicken Tikka Masala is nothing more than chicken in tomato soup!
And their Biryani is more like a gulas with more tomatoes than rice!

We, The Gentlemen's Curry Club, Sompting, England, visited Prague for an annual 'Curry Weekend'. Three of us are enthusiatic curry cooks using authentic spices & recipes and not commercial products.
We all agreed that it was the best Indian food we have tasted ( including, sadly, our own !! ) in 30+ years. The breads are a must !!!
The evening was completed by informative, professional and very friendly staff.
If there is anywhere better, it must be in heaven !

From food to atmosphere over friendliness and service, this restaurant is excellent. The dishes are absolutely delicious, true to traditional Indian cuisine. They are also extremely well suited to a European clientele, because they are only mildly spicy while still retaining the deliciousness of this great cuisine.
The breads are a league for themselves. Everything from Naan to Roti bread is made in the in-house stone oven and tastes incredibly.
The outdoor seating is lovely for warmer months, and the location is top notch. I know I will return for sure.
10 points for this true jewel.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, good samosas, nice wine, beautiful presentation - and yet still didn't sate my craving for a proper curry, as the mains were just too bland for my taste... As delicately made and nicely presented as the food was, I'd still stick with Rana every time for a decent spice fix at much less of the price.

This has to be one of the most excellently located, superb and classy restaurants in Prague! The food is absolutely and positively delicious and lives up to the expectations. The decor is amazing and its assured that you wont find anything more unique than it miles and miles around. The chef makes those naans and kebabs so elegantly in front of you and the staff is so helpful! They've even got some three course daily menus for ridiculous prices, so i'm going to be visiting it more than frequently!
