From Poland to Portugal
The yellow Family Frost vans have meanwhile become a common sight on the roads of eight European countries. They service their customers within a fixed weekly schedule - in Germany, Croatia, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Comprising more than 1,300 sales vans in some 130 depots and nearly 3,000 staff, the company is the No 1 amongst the street vending companies.

On the road for more than 10 years
In the year 1989, the Wall came down which had separated Germany and Europe. New companies emerged. One year later, for instance, within the Milchhof Eiskrem GmbH & Co KG, Mettmann, Family Frost was developed as a new home delivery service for ice-cream and frozen food. In building this service, experience was incorporated from the home delivery service Eismann, operating in Germany and Western Europe, and the Hjem-Is company (Hemglass in Sweden), the leading direct sales organisation of ice-cream in Northern Europe. Since 2002, the 3 company groups belong to Nestlé AG.

In 1992, Family Frost had covered the entire territory of East Germany. Meanwhile the service is also being offered in the adjoining areas of former West Germany. As a street vending system with a convenient range of frozen food products, Family Frost represents a new type of service in Germany as well as in large parts of Europe. Since 1992, the Family Frost service also exists in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary. In 1996, Croatia, Slovenia and Spain followed, and in 1997 Portugal.
