Modry Slon Kadernictvi is one of the best hair salon in town. Chen is amazing and the best part of it is that he's fluent in English :) I highly recommend it!

This is a good place to get your hair cut...he does quite a good job,..but there are a few minuses...the place is pretty dirty,and old hair isn't cleaned up..and also he is quite rough when washing hair..good haircut but overall the experience isn't that professional...

Great service, really nice guy, and most of all an amazing hair cut. You would pay 10 times as much for the same quality of hair cut in New York or Paris.

I'm very choosy when it comes to hairstylists. I got mine cut at T&G for the past 3 years. I decided to give Chan a try after reading the raves posted here. I was very happy with my cut. Great customer service and excellent prices! Will definitely visit him again.

I also went to the salon based on reviews on this site. The haircut I got first time was good, but his scissors were not so sharp, or that was the impression I got when he was hurting me everytime he did layers.
I went second time in February 2008. This time I was sure - he is not good. First, when washing my hair, he was too rough, then he had the same scissors that hurt, plus he nearly burned my ear when blowdrying! I was a bit shocked actually... But the result was not bad in the end and he is nice guy to chat to, so if you don;t mind a little pain, go for it :)

I have an easy head to cut, but even then, it was one of the best haircuts I've ever had. Excellent job, and I'll be back for sure.

I had probably THE best haircut/coloring experience of my life yesterday and would like to highly recommend Chan to any English-speaking expat seeking a stylist who actually CARES about his clients! I felt completely at home from the moment I walked in and Chan did everything in his power to make me feel comfortable including an in-depth discussion of the type of cut and color I was looking for as well as a complimentary beverage and chocolate! He was attentive, meticulous, and even stayed past his working hours to finish up my 'do. If you're looking for perfection, Chan's your man!

He's been cutting my hair for 2 years. He's a really nice guy and he speaks good English. It's also right in the city center (same street as Nebe and U Fleku) so that for me is also a big plus.

Would definitely reccomend.

Well for anyone visitng Prague for plastic surgery and facing the dilema of "how do I deal with the issue of washing my hair" look no further!

Chan and his assistant are great and provide a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in which to get you hair washed and styled.

I just called him up and explained (he speeks fab English) that us 3 girls wanted a wash and blow dry as after having breast surgery we couldnt wash our hair ourselves. He fitted us in the same day and was very pleased to meet us.

He performed a fab cut whilst we were all there wathing him waiting for our taxi.

I wouldnt have any hesitation in visiting Modry Slon on a regular basis if I was living in Prague.

After being in Prague for 10 months, I have
finally found a place where I have been
100% happy with my haircut. I can recomend
this to any men seeking a good haircut.
They will also listen to how you want it and
try their best to deliver. At 320kc, I thought it
was a bargain.

Very friendly guy - but I hated the haircut I got - it wasn't what I asked for, but he thought he knew better.

I liked Chan right away and he did a nice job with my very fine hair. The layers were a bit more pronounced than I'd expected but compared to some of my friends' experiences with the "Czech haircut," I consider myself lucky. Chan used great products and took his time with my hair (45 minutes), and it was only 670 crowns. I will definitely return.

Visited the salon after reading the reviews on this site and I love my hair cut. Chan was great and very pleasant with me and my 1.5 year old who just didnt stop crying while I was there.

Will most certaintly go back.

I went to see Chan yesterday for a cut after reading the good reviews on this site. I was very pleased. Chan has four things going for him:
1) He speaks English and listens- it's hard for anyone to give you a style you want it if he can't understand you. He spent time listening to what I was looking for.
2) He is technically skilled. He spent 40 minutes with me for the shampoo and cut and it turned out great.
3) He is personable. Like others on this site have already noted, he is one stylist who you can actually talk to. Also, his salon is not the modern, gleaming stainless steel variety. It is a down to earth, "normal" salon that isn't intimidating for an average guy like me.
4) Considering points 1 through 3 he is very reasonably priced. I know there are some who refuse to pay more than 90 CKZs for a cut, but if you want some real style and are willing to pay a very reasonable price, Chan's salon is for you.

I had my hair cut last night at Modry Slon. Chan was really awesome! Professional, friendly, talented... He was fun to talk to- it was the first time I've had my hair cut where I didn't want to keep my nose in a book the entire time. My haircut is glamorous for sure, but I'd go back for the experience alone.

Wow! Talking about class and professionalism, Chan Modry Salon came really way up to my high standards and expectations. Unlike any other salon, Chan will suggest and/or recommend a style that will suit you. He's very friendly, dedicated and well-focused. I'm rating the overall service as 2 Thumbs Up....Vyborne!

I went to go see Chan purely based on the stellar reviews he received on this site. I had high hopes, but ended up pretty disappointed. When I made my appointment, I told him I could come in anytime after work (5 p.m.). He suggested I come in at 7, so I did, but he was running late, so I didn't get into the chair until after 7:30. By that time he seemed to be dying to get home, and rushed through the entire consultation, wash, cut and style in less than 45 minutes. For example, he asked me how short I wanted to go with my fringe, and while I was still making up my mind, he just went right ahead and cut it shorter!
The cut I ended up with didn't look bad, but it was dull and uninspired, and I thought Chan was rather amateurish. For example, I asked him to suggest styles that might suit my face shape and he needed to refer to an instructional handbook. The best part of the whole experience was flipping through his magazines while I waited. For 700+ crowns, I certainly expected more, and will go elsewhere next time.

Superb! That's the way I describe the hair cut I had Modry Slon. The service was amazing. Chan is very friendly, extremely professional and certainly knows what he's doing. He explains step by step everything he's doing to your hair and gives you advice on how to maintain it healthy and beautiful. I recommend! :-)

Chen did an awesome job with my hair! I did not know what i wanted done so he made suggestions which worked out perfectly. He was friendly and informative and explained to me everything that he was doing. He was also fun to watch. Probably the best hairdresser I have ever been to!

The best haircut Ive ever had..Chan explains everthing that he does with ur hair, from shampoo, conditoner etc..He will also suggest what kid of cut is suitable for you..Reasonable price as well..

Chan spends time making sure you are completely happy with your cut. He is very professional in his work. And the prices are the best! I will never go anywhere else in Prague for a haircut.

Today, my seven-year-old had her first salon experience and Chan made it very special for her. She looks great and is very happy with her new look :)
