I've been with Crossfit since the start of the year and I'm a testament to the fact that you can benefit from Crossfit no matter what your size or health is currently. Zdenek takes a holistic approach to his training making sure you are not only doing the right combination of strength, endurance, and cardiac training but also eating "clean" to fuel your body. Before I didn't even feel comfortable walking into a YMCA gym and now I train next to incredibly fit athletes and feel encouraged by the comradery though I am still far from my goal. It cost nothing to try, and even with just one visit you can feel what it's all about.

I used to go to one of the largest gyms in Prague for two years and I considered myself in pretty good shape at 5'9" 170lbs and 8% bf. Then, I tried Crossfit with Zdenek and got my ass kicked! What an ego check... After peeling myself off the floor I knew that I wasn't going to renew my membership at my old gym. I was doing high intensity workouts before, or so I thought, but this takes it to another level. My endurance has skyrocketed, my lifts have all increased, I finally learned how to eat properly (which is a whole other post in itself) and my general fitness has improved across the board! I was amazed since I was at a plateau in my training before and was getting discouraged. Another great aspect of Crossfit is that it really turns fitness into a sport. Every workout is a competition in that your workouts are timed and posted on a whiteboard. Having bragging rights is great motivation! I highly recommend giving Crossfit a try.

I started with Mr. Weig this summer, my first experience with Crossfit. Crossfit is not like a workout in an ordinary gym, there are no benches or stair stepper machines. The workouts are similar to what gymnasts or Olympic weightlifters would undertake. Even if you´re not familiar with the crossfit workout, give it a go, since the first visit is free, and with the first, or any, visit you will be monitored by Weig who is a certified trainer and nutritionist. The reason I like the crossfit workout better compared to a traditional gym:
1) Different workout every day
2) Supervised training
3) Communal support and comradeship
4) Challenging
5) Workout entire body, not segments
6) Aerobic and anaerobic in one session
I managed to lose over 30 pounds this summer while doing crossfit, so I thoroughly recommend it.
Starting January 2010 is their first Crossfit Challenge, a fitness competition I plan on entering. http://eng.crossfitpraha.com/xfit-challenge/challenge-faqs/ This might be a good way to ease off a few of those holiday pounds.

Crossfit Praha was brought to my attention by a friend who appeared to be enjoying the training sessions and persuaded me to come along one day. Since then I have not looked back!
The variety of exercises like wall ball, rowing, lunges, pull-ups, sit-ups, kettle bells, weight-lifting and many more make the training program so diverse and challenging. You never know what's in store for you as the exercises are changed daily and you aim to achieve a personal best each time.
Having spent several months in a gym and almost passed out from boredom, this has definitely increased my will to get fit and healthy. Three months later I feel great and on occasions can't believe I am capable of exercises which initially seemed impossible! Seeing weekly progress is what really motivates each Crossfitter. Besides that, there is a huge diversity between members varying from male, female, young, old, overweight, strong, unfit or healthy. Each person has tremendous will power and the exercises are adjusted to individual abilities.
I will continue to challenge myself at Crossfit and look forward to "The Skinny Challenge" on January 16th. Curious? You should be!

Zděnek Weig and his Crossfit Praha gets a 10 out of 10 star rating.
No two workouts are the same giving you variety, a challenge, its fun and you get fit as well.
Whilst you do this to get yourself fit, the support and motivation from others makes it feel like a team sport.
Don't take my word for it go along and give it a go.

I've been looking for several years for a way to work out that is challenging, efficient, social and *not boring* (i.e. traditional gyms). I'm so glad I finally found Crossfit Praha!
The workouts are different every day, designed and supervised by Zděnek Weig who is great to work with and really knows his stuff. You quickly learn where you're strong and weak!
It's social because most people do variations of the day's workout, but adjusted to their ability and at their own pace. I really like this because I feel energy from the camaraderie of doing the same workout as other people, but I can work out at a level that is appropriate for me, at a time of day that is convenient for my schedule.
As for better fitness and weight loss, I've never seen so much consistent improvement among such a diverse group of people ever. It's inspiring to see in others and it's great to feel in yourself.
Overall the workouts are challenging but also satisfying and even fun. Your body may complain from your visits but it will also thank you.

After doing bootcamp in Australia I was looking to continue my fitness regime back in Prague however, I really struggled finding anything that motivated me and the regular gyms over here not inspiring at all.
Fortunately someone told me about Zdenek, this guy who had been living in the States the past 10 years and was teaching this “Cross Fit” thing, so I thought “well, at the very least he will speak English”!
I´ve been going to Cross Fit now for about 3 months and I´m addicted! I´ve lost about 4 kilos and at least one dress size and feel fantastic! You get such personalized service and the workouts not only test your ability but make you desperate to come back for more so you can do better. I´ve honestly never worked out so many days a week in my life!
