At the beginning of April 2003 the Celnice Restaurant was opened in one of the largest multifunction premises in Prague, in the reconstructed Old Custom´s House in the Republic Square.
This was the second restaurant of the Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant network managed by the Kolkovna Group, and it has increased the dynamics of the project. The Restaurant originated in the so-called Old Custom´s House where two architectural styles meet, the 19th century industrialism and current modern architecture. The dominant feature of the restaurant, just like in other restaurants based on this concept, is a replica of a brewing copper above the bar. The interior comes together thanks to the wooden panelling, massive oak tables and traditional ´tonet´ chairs. Copper, brass, oak, Czech and Moravian Cuisine are the main selling points of the restaurant. The interior design of the Celnice Restaurant was created, just like the other PUOR restaurants, by Jiřà HanzlÃk, an architect. The reconstruction of the whole of the building of the Old Custom´s House was lead by a team of architects from Atelier 8000 fronted by Martin Krupauer and Jiřà StÅ™Ãtecký. The Music Club Celnice, situated in the cellar premises, is part of the Celnice Restaurant. The guests´ taste buds will appreciate not only the golden Pilsner Urquell lager but also good quality food. Apart from the traditional Czech dishes (Pilsen goulash, duck with sauerkraut, sirloin done in cream sauce with dumpling) and beer specialities (pickled sausages, brawn, and pickled brie), international cuisine dishes and culinary specialities are available. One can enjoy these dishes either within the restaurant premises, or in the beer garden with an open fire and grill. The beer garden can house more than 180 guests. The total capacity of the restaurant (the Original Restaurant, Music Club and outside beer garden) is more than 480 seats. Opening hours are Sunday to Wednesday 11:00- 02:00 and Thursday to Sunday 11:00- 04:00.
