Welcome to Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, a European metropolis of culture, a congress destination of world renown. Each year, tens of thousands of people make their way to the Czech capital to attend a congress, trade fair or seminar held here. The majority of these visitors arrive thanks to the Prague Convention Bureau (Czech acronym: PAKT), or to describe it more aptly, thanks to the activity of PAKT members. The Bureau´s principal mission is to present Prague abroad as a major location for congresses, the most important activity of its members is to prepare, produce and organize congresses, trade fairs and seminars with atttention to each and every single detail. The Prague Convention Bureau has fifty members, which include congress organizers, hotels, cultural institutions, transport, technical services, travel agencies, organizers of trade fairs and exhibitions, catering and food establishments, translation firms and advertising agencies. Next to private companies, municipal and state organizations, such as the Municipal House, Prague Castle Administration, and the Congress Centre Prague are also PAKT members. The Prague Convention Bureau forges a partnership of private, municipal and state institutions that helps promote developments in the congress industry in Prague.
