I've had a drivers license from the USA for many years, and Petr was able to teach me everything I needed to know to become a safe driver in the Czech Republic, and also pass the test needed for a Czech driver's license. He will be able to tell you what you need to focus on and what is important to not only be a good driver in this country, but also what is needed to pass test. He will drill those things into you until you remember them. Listen to him, and you'll be happy you did. I am!

I'm by no means a natural driver but I passed my Czech test first time with Petr Sim. He's an excellent and very dedicated driving instructor, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services.

NO NEED TO LOOK ELSEWHERE

I have had a driver's license for many years in my home country, but finally had to take the plunge and become "official" in the CR. After speaking to other expats and taking in the reviews with a grain of salt, I contacted Petr. He was very prompt in responding, extremely helpful along the way, as accommodating schedule-wise as any busy professional can be, and, most importantly, he helped to put me at ease with the never-ending Czech bureaucracy. Like anything else in life, you get out of something what you put into it. While there are not many good English-language resources out there, all the test questions are online and are freely available for practice. Petr has a team of extremely talented interpreters who sit the exam with you and take all the stress and worry out of ANY possible language barrier issues. Other than the fact that Czech law is ridiculous and requires experienced drivers to pay for a course (no fault of Petr's), my entire experience with Petr Sim was positive and painless. One bit of advice - if you are busy and do not have a flexible schedule, just ask Petr to confirm your lesson with you the night before so everyone is on the same page and there is no miscommunication. That said, he always kept his word and our appointments.

Very good and professional

I had to get a drivers license fast due to time constraints. Even though I have driven outside europe for a long time, driving with Petr was very helpful. I learnt much more about the european driving laws and Petr also repeatedly ask me to correct some of my bad driving habits (excessive use of clutch for e.g.). He was flexible to accomodate my schedule. The driving test was convenient as Petr had already indicated the route to me. I felt a little nervous about the theory test, but it went well. The only recommendation I have for everyone is to revise the rules, road signs etc the day before the test - failing the theory test is an additional 2000 CZK!

Driving Lessons with a World Class Motorist

Petr Sim is not only an exemplary instructor but he has enthusiasm for the subject matter. As someone who had been driving previously for many decades, with a clean driving record and no major accidents in the past my objective of course was to simply get my CZ drivers license due to legal requirements of being a permanent CZ/EU resident. The bonus though of studying with Sim was that in the process of passing the exams -- I exited Sim's program a better driver. The European signage system in particular is different and more complicated than that of N. America. Sim has a clear understanding of these differences, as well as a fascination with the logic and function of the EU and CZ traffic signs. Driving and automobiles is Sim's thing, and in a world where so often people are doing something that isn't their thing its a pleasure to study and work with someone who is clearly in their game and in their zone. That's not to say there isn't work involved in the process, Petr does not hesitate to let his students know where their driving is below par, and where they must improve. Sim though does all this with the better characteristics of a good sports coach.
