"Glad I Tried It"

After reading reviews about this place I was a little nervous. Even though they don't accept my insurance (PVZP), it is really helpful to find an English-speaking staff and a few people I know go there. It saw Dr. Sasek and really liked him. I will definitely return and I recommend him.

I only went there once, two months ago, hoping to find a clinic more centrally located than CMC. The receptionist was very nice, the doctor (a man, don't remember his name) was unfriendly, disinterested and had poor bedside manner. I will be leaving Prague soon, but for now I will stay with CMC, they have their problems too but they are more professional.

I read these reviews and many of the negative ones specifically mention Dr. Benes. I have to agree. I see Dr. Sasek. When he was ill, the receptionists made me see Dr. Benes instead. He smiled at me the whole time and told me I'm beautiful. This made me very uncomfortable. I doubt he heard a word I said, as he seemed to be lost in some sexual fantasy. Even worse, he recommended vaccines that I had already had. When Dr. Sasek returned, he told me it was not necessary to repeat those vaccines and that I had wasted my money. Another time, my husband had to see Dr. Stransky because Dr. Sasek was ill again. Dr. Stransky was very snobby and did not appreciate the fact that we had educated ourselves about my husband's problem. He said, "Oh. Another patient who thinks he knows more than the doctor." Basically, if you can't see Dr. Sasek, find another clinic.

Seeing the comments below I thought I would add that it is overpriced and no indication is given when they want to provide treatment how much it will cost.
They seem to want to lul you into a false sense of security that they will not charge you much and then bang! Please pay us loads of money! Its not the overcharging that annoys me the most, I found a lot of scare mongering went on with regards to all the treatments they want to provide, I am not going into detail, but I was told by another doctor that the treatment they wanted to provide was not necessary on such a regular basis.
"Lack of medical professionalism and high fees"

Unfortunately I can also agree with Jaroline and ClaudinePrague. I have been going to these Doctors for some time and I will also be stopping. While they definitely cater to expats with their Doctors and reception staff speaking English well, I definitely can not say the same for their medical professionalism.

I was originally seeing one Dr who put me on medication long term and assured me that it was fine - despite me asking many questions about it. I happened by chance to see another Dr (the original Dr was off ill) who then told me that long term use of this medication would result in internal damage.

As far as fees are concerned, if you don't have medical insurance then be very wary. I was made to pay a high 'joining fee' for the 'set-up' of my patient account. I also had to follow rules such as paying to see a Dr on every second visit or every 3 months when all I needed was a simple prescription.

I too have also experienced the receptionists' unfriendliness and at times incompetency.

I think it is a little sad that people in a position such as theirs (responsible for the health and well-being of their patients) can take advantage of expats, who are more than likely adjusting to living in a foreign city.

I've been to this clinic a few times. I won't be coming back. I expected this clinic to be more expensive than usual because they seem to target(unsuspecting?)foreigners that do not realize what the average price for a consultation in Prague is. However, for that price I expect class A customer service. Boy was I wrong. They are highly overpriced and the doctor(Benes) gave the impression that I shouldn't ask too many questions since he's the doctor and I'm just a lowly patient. Their service feels like that ex-communist style: "customer is lucky to use our service" mentality.

Save yourself the frustration and money and find a better clinic. Pretty much all others are cheaper with better service.

The clinic was crowded but the schedule was respected even though I was a little late.

Very thoughtful doctor.
Good for small emergencies and prescriptions.
"Beware of Dr Benes Fee tricks"

I organised to have some vaccines done and specifically asked what the doctor fee would be when they told me my doctor (Benes) would have to do them rather than a nurse. They told me in an email that there would be NO FEE and just the vaccination charges to pay. I decided great, I'll have them done there rather than in Prague 4. To be honest I wasn't a great fan of Dr. Benes before and always found his manner to be cold and defensive when answering questions. Like he shouldn't be getting questioned or the question asked are stupid. Anyways he gives me the vaccinations (takes approximately 10 minutes max) and bundles me off to pay the bill. He then gets his next patient while I find out that he'd added a 300kc doctors fee! The receptionist agrees its strange as she had been specifically told that no fee would be charged to me and went to query him but he wouldn't budge and made up some crap that as I had more than 1 vaccination (which he knew all along) then a fee is charged. The lovely receptionist couldn't understand it herself and apologised on his behalf as she had been clearly told that there would be no extra fee and she didn't know why there was one added. So I had to pay the fee and I will never be going back to see him again. Fair enough if he wants to charge his fee but it is a total ripoff to tell a patient there WILL NOT be a fee but then charge them a fee when they get there. That and that fact I never found him to be a great doctor anyway. If you have to go there, try the other doctor and I can also recommend the gyno Dr. Herman - nice manner and happy to answer questions without getting defensive or making you feel like an idiot.

They saw me right away. Located right in the center. The doctor was very kind and the place was beautiful--very clean. Kind of expensive--but I was expecting it. A little over $100 for exam for my flu and meds.
