Our N11 Music Club is the Czech Republic’s first premier rock club. N11 was planned, developed, and opened using only the best New York City parameters and standards in the fields of music, entertainment, food, drink, and service.
Our club continues a long family tradition, being situated in the former premises of the National Literary Tavern which was a landmark social and cultural center in Prague one hundred years ago. Our club is owned and operated by Dr. Martin Stransky, a New York physician of Czech descent, who came to Prague in 1990 to resurrect the family’s traditions in culture, publishing, and politics. The Bolshevik potato storage room, along with coal tanks and stacks of red communist manifesto books (the club was used by the official commie publishing house as its warehouse dump) were all thrown out; the cement and plaster that hid the glorious 105 year-old stone was chipped away, and a new club and concert amphiteater was built in what was formerly a cesspool of socialist planning.
Our doors open at 4pm for drinks and light food and music after work. At 7pm, the music gets turned up just a bit, as the club expands into a pre-theater and full dinner cocktail club. Since we can seat 220 people comfortably in our six rooms (including our non-smoking section), there is always room for any atmosphere you wish. Live music begins at 10pm in the club’s concert room, featuring premier local as well as international bands. The entertainment continues full blast, along with drinks and the kitchen, till closing time at 4am. Those with cardiac pacemakers are encouraged to perform a maintenance check before entering our premises.
We are located across the street from the National theater in Prague. We provide top rock, pop, blues, funk and transglobal music as well as food, drinks, entertainment, and service. We also serve as a music studio and center for music seminars and studies before opening hours. We do it all.
