Possibly the best culinary adventure I have ever had. There were actually points in the meal where we felt high. I don't think I've ever been so moved by food.

Although the fixed menus are meat based and I am vegetarian, they were happy to prepare alternatives and alter the wine list accordingly. The accompanying wines lifted the food to such a level that we were both giddy with excitement.

At over 10,000czk for the two of us (fixed menu, fixed paired wine list, a bottle of water and 2 glasses of champagne) this is unlikely to become a regular haunt, but the reblocon foam is a memory I will cherish for a long time.

Those guys at Ambiente always seem to get it right.

This restaurant brought out the worst manners in me: I found myself soaking up remnants of sauces with bread; wiping my mouth and licking my fingers; licking my knife and fork. My wife restrained me from licking my plate.

Let me get one thing straight: do not go to Le Degustation if you just want to have a meal. Go here if you want an exhilarating journey.

The portions here are quite small: but you get lots of them! And each one is so thoroughly satisfying (intense yet gentle) that any more of each would be too much.

We had 14 courses - and 8 wines to go with them - all perfectly matched by the wine experts there. Particularly notable is the duck smoked with beech wood, and wrapped in lamb's bacon. It was served with a Rioja that was so accurately matched I was giddy with excitement.

Mid way in the meal I beckoned the restaurant manager and stated "your chefs are not just artists, they are also scientists - they understand food and its effects on humans at a very deep level". Really, I felt I was in the company of geniuses.

After a couple of courses, my wife pointed out that we were both grinning like teenage lovers, and in a way, I think that is exactly what we were. We had experienced dining taken to a whole new level - and we were completely head-over-heels in love with it.

When we came out (after four hours of non-stop dining) I felt a level of relaxation and contentment that I usually only associate a week long vacation in an exotic land. It was a deeply immersive experience.

If the rating dials went all the way up to 11, I would have given this place more than 10. I now downgrade all my previous 10/10 rating to 5/10, since nothing else I have experienced in Prague comes even close to this place.

My prediction: La Degustation will soon have at least one Michelin Star.

This is my first experience with degustation place. Me and my boyfriend, we love to go out for dinner a lot. We have some favorite places in Praque, and after the visit of La Degustation, we have the best favorite one. All you have to do here is to choose from 3 diffrent menus, and then you just enjoy your 12-course dinner evening composing from small plates ("amuse bouche"). The sommeliers recommend you wine taste menu going well with your choise of menu. The whole dinner takes about 3 hours, that's what I appreciate, you enjoy every bit of dinner, wine and you spend the evening in a nice quit conversation in a no hurry. The menus are changing almost every day, so you never get tired of it. I just love this restaurant, food is absolutely fantastic and all the staff is terriffic, nice and friendly.
