The Česká hospoda restaurant is an historically interesting location. It is situated in "Josefov" in the heard of Prague´s Old Town.

At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the renowned author Franz Kafka liked to walk through hostelry called Hermanns Café - Restaurant "Savoy" around 1910 - 1912. A Polish Jewish acting troupe performed in this establishment and Franz Kafka watched undistinguished but attractive Jewish showpieces there.  An actor of that time, Jizchak Lowy, later became Kafka´s friend and he told the author about the life of the Jews in Poland and recited Jewish poems for him. Franz Kafka felt very much at home here and was therefore a frequent visitor. The theatre played in the back corner of the hall separated by a curtain that could be drawn across.
