Czech Bar Association is a self-administrative
professional organisation with national competence and its registered office is
in Prague 1, Národní tř. 16. It was established by Act No.85/1996 Coll., on the Legal Profession as
amended by Act No. 210/1999 Coll. (hereafter Legal Profession Act ”LPA”). This
Act regulates the preconditions for the performance of the legal profession and
the conditions under which legal services may be provided as well as the
provision of legal services by lawyers (hereafter the ”Performance of the Legal
Profession”). The provision of legal services under the LPA means representation
before a court of law and other authorities, defence in criminal cases, granting
legal advice, drawing up legal papers, processing legal analyses and other forms
of legal aid if carried out systematically and for a fee.
