I was in the Pind restaurant for the second time with my friends and I was very much satisfied with the excellent service of the staff and the quality and quantity of food. They have new chefs which have worked in India's finest restaurants. The ambience of the restaurant is very good. Family and corporate parties should be taken place there as you wont be disappointed.

Its almost same rate like in center. Vinohrady there are another better options now a days. Sorry to say we wont be able to afford such rates. Anyway best of luck

Been there quite a few times and also ordered take away. Food has always been great and the staff very nice and friendly. They even cooked a prawn biryiani that was not on the menu! My 2 year old son was very happy with the attention he received and he was taken on a tour of the restaurant. They didnt mind the food thrown on the floor by our toddler and encouraged him to eat. Will always go back to enjoy the best indian food i have had in Prague.

I live nearby and I've seen this Indian restaurant several times while taking the tram.
Out of curiosity I decided to give it a try, and I quickly became a regular after that.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food is great and the staff is friendly and very "buddy-like".
I often enjoy their lunch buffet, which is all-you-can-eat for a low price during the daytime.

They also seems to have many English speaking customers, which means it's a good place to meet fellow expats.

I visited a few indian restaurants in prague, but never really quite found that "little" extra I'm looking for when it comes to quality dining outside.

I came in and was given a seat at the lunch buffet room. I went straight ahead and ordered the Murgh Makhani (butter chicken), garlic naan and plain basmati rice.

My waiter was very helpful and did his job sufficiently. When ordering I specified that I don't want food that is adapted to the czech locals taste buds, and he immediately understood what i meant.

The Garlic Naan was slightly crispy and had this fresh and delicious edge to it.

Out of all the butter chicken i tasted, this is one of the best ones. A perfect mix of sweetness, tartness and a slight tangy kick to it is what i always look for in butter chicken. It was literally a explosion of flavors in my mouth.

At the end of the visit I spoke a bit with one of the staffs, and I was encouraged to write about the pind on the internet. So here is my personal verdict of the pind.

You won't get rid of me that easily. I will be back for more Pindlicious indian food.

I've been going to The Pind for months now, and they have offered great quality service and food every time.

Recently I tried the All you can eat buffet. For the price offered, it is very honest and very good. One dish of meat, two vegetarian options, rice, potatoes and salad.

For a busy weekday lunch, it's the perfect quick stop.

Dinners are always a pleasure, but be sure to make a reservation at least 2 hours in advance because sometime it can get packed.

The food is very traditional, do not be afraid to ask for suggestions if you can't handle spicy or "peppered" food and the portions are good.

Tried The Pind for the first time this evening as a couple of people I know recommended it and it was shocking.

Very salty, over peppered and not very much chicken in the curry I had (more of a soup with a few bits of chicken).

I usually go to the Curry House and that will continue as so far they have delivered perfect food everytime!!!

Response from The Pind:

Dear Happy Madison, we are truly concerned about the review that you have written. In the short time The Pind has been open, the restaurant has gone from strength to strength and is now widely considered by our loyal guests as being the best Indian restaurant in the Czech Republic. Our guests visit The Pind for authentic quality Indian food and our 5* team deliver that food and service on a daily basis. We will never be able to please everyone, but we can assure you that we will aim to constantly improve and offer the quality service that our visitors are used to. Although we believe the remarks about our food to be incorrect and untrue, we wish you the very best in the future.

Jayant & company, keep up the great work!

Rating 5/5

we are ardent food lovers and try different restaurants. Whenever a new indian restaurant opens we love to check the place and thats how we landed in the PIND.

The ambiance was pleasant and the service is very good. The food is extremely good and tasty and we really enjoyed our dinner!!! This is by far the best Indian food we had in Prague.

I would like to reply to SUMEK SINGH on his review.

@Sumek After i read your review i couldn't stop laughing. You have a very good sense of humor!!!
Your choice of Indian restaurants puts Masala and Dilli delli on top and you complain about low class pub ambiance in THE PIND!!! That was funny.Dilli delli doesn't even know what ambiance is!!

2. Your choice of words like worlds tiniest samosas are hilarious!! Did you actually measure the samosa? How big are they 2 cms? 2 inches etc? Looks like you are well versed with the tiniest samosas in the world!!

3. In your guide to Indian restaurants apart from jewel dhaba and delli dilli i havent even heard of other restaurants. Just simply because they are not recommended by any or they would have shut down their business or they might be kiosks in some metro stations!!

4. I am surprised to see dilli delli on the second of your list above jewel dhaba!!! Dilli delli doesnt have ambiance or tasty food. i went there only once and i decided never to go there.Their aloo curry was pathetic. one should be really bad at cooking to spoil a simple potato curry!!!

your review tells me that you want to put down PIND badly and you somehow belong to one of the restaurants you mentioned in your GUIDE. I will give you some advice probably free of cost. If one wants to succeed in business they should work hard and concentrate on their own business rather than trying to degrade others.

Your review have probably earned The Pind more customers and damaged your own client ale.

Learn some sport man spirit if you can!!!

Now coming back to THE PIND
Guys your restaurant is amazing and we really enjoy the food!!! keep up the good work!!

Good Luck

Definitely the best Indian restaurant in town so far judging by price/quality ratio. Newcomer beating all competitors.

Delicious food, fantastic service and reasonable prices. I have been to almost all other Indian restaurants in Prague and for me The Pind is my absolute favorite (and it is close to my house!). Design is nothing special, but the food is real homely Indian fare. I love their delicious veg curries and dhal with wonderful mixture of spices.

I recommend to try their 'all you can eat' Indian lunch, served from 11 am to 2.30 pm. It costs just 109Kc and if you like it you can later come for a dinner.

The managers are extremely friendly and attentive, they will do everything to make you happy. The Pind is a must for all Indian food lovers. I only hope they will keep the standards high!

The best vindaloo I have eaten outside of England...

The place is hard to find with the work going on the front of the building, but finding it you will be rewarded by proper Indian food cooked with pride and all fresh ingredients.

The staff are very welcoming and multi lingual so good for all nationalities.

The menu is varied enough for all.

I was very impressed with my vindaloo the sauce was perfect not too thick not too thin.

Before it was cooked I was asked how I wanted it heat wise and was assured if not satisfied it would be corrected. But no need as perfect first time.

Will be going back to this place again.

The nan bread was freshly cooked and perfect.

I give them 10/10 for service.
I give them 10/10 for food.
I give them 10/10 for value for money.

Every time a new restaurant opens, multiple reviews start flowing in with most of them being sham(as my experience says).

I am a foodie and an ardent fan of Indian cooking, thus its natural for me to survey a "nice" Indian resturant. Based on the 7 "5 star" reviews, my wife and I along with few more ardent foodies decided to visit the Pind.

The reception gave a feeling of low cost, pub unless we were escorted to the basement for the real restaurant feeling. I think the reviews were working as the place was packed completely, we had to wait for a while till we were seated. We were to be joined by our friends and in the mean time decided to order some soup and starters. The Daal shorba ordered was sent in form of Tomato soup, which was duly replaced a little later by bolied lentils( masoor dhuli- for Indians), A world record setting tiniest samsosas were served along with it. Both the shorba and the samosa were not even perfumed with spices and were difficult to gulp down.

Our friends ordered some whiskey which was served in the big glass tumblers(Ikea), then we dcided to go in for some more starters. The paneer shaslik was Paneer tikka, with no hint of shaslik, Dahi ke kabab were of a decent taste.

The main course was Baingan Bharta(not roasted, not cooked, no spices, no presentation), Yellow dal tadka(again uncooked spices and half boiled daal), chicken tikka masala(apparetly chicken sausages in some sort of masala sauce- edible though). Lachha paratha(crunchy to the core).

Over -all it was the second worst Indian meal we have ever had in Prague, it stands right at the top after chanchala's dosa.

For people who are fond of Indian food and spice, please use the following guide in future.

Indian restuarants in order of taste:-
1. Masala
2. Dilli Delhi
3. Indian Jewel
4. Tikka Dhaba
5. Caravan Serai
6. Golden Tikka
7. Mayur
8. The Pind
9. Manni Kebabish
10. Beas.

In order of Value for Money and taste
1. Dilli Delhi
2. Manni Kebabish
3. Tikka Dhaba
4. Masala.

For real Indian dining experience, there only 2 good restaurants Masala and Indian Jewel.

The only Resturant with a real "Tandoor"- Indian Jewel

<i>Response from The Pind:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. We are very happy you could see a clear difference between The Pind and most other Indian restaurants in Prague. Your review is our customer´s most popular topic of conversation in our restaurant. We have had so many customers and reservations because of your review. We are truly very grateful.

We do understand not every customer will enjoy truly authentic Indian food, but we also believe this is why we have become so loved by our customers who enjoy our authentic cooking. When my brother and I worked together in the 5 star hotels in India, many people said that real authentic food must come from the heart, and not everyone in Europe will enjoy it.

This is very true, and it is why you will find many different styles of Indian cooking all over the world. Our recipes are authentic and many many years old, and not all authentic Indian food is spiced or seasoned to be so powerful, some truly original dishes are quite delicate.

It is our pleasure to have served you on your visit to The Pind, and we are sorry the food was not to your taste.

Thank you for sharing your personal opinion of the other Indian restaurants in Prague. Our 5 star kitchen and our business is completely different to these restaurants and we are very happy you did not compare us to them. If you were to rate these restaurants in order of authentic food, our customers would rate us as number 1. The next time you visit our restaurant we would be very happy to make the food more to your taste. Please tell our staff how you would like your food prepared and we will cook it to your liking.

My Kindest regards.

As promised in my previous review I went back to The Pind for dinner with my wife and a friend. We feasted on Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Chettinaad, and Dal Makhani. All three dishes were superb with flavors I've never experienced before. The ambiance and service were also fantastic...this will be a regular stop for us.

All you can eat Indian lunch for 109kc. Nuff said!

Well, not exactly. To describe it a bit, they offer four main dishes, including one meat dish. The veggie dishes were better than the chicken curry, as the chicken had a lot of bones which made it difficult to eat. But overall the taste and quality was great.

They bring you a basket of fresh nan each time you run out. You can take some side dishes such as pappadam and raw veggies, as well as some nice yogurt sauce.

The staff is very friendly and attentive. You can tell that they are proud of their restaurant and want people to enjoy it.

Overall, its a great place. And yes, 109kc for all you can eat Indian food!! Brilliant!

Having lived here in The Czech Republic for 12 years, finding a good Indian Restaurant has been difficult. We've tried the Indian Jewel, Masala, Taj Mahal and others but nothing comes close to The Pind.

The food is excellent - 5 stars plus with friendly service, well presented and very authentic meals.

I strongly recommend anyone who appreciates good Indian food to try this place out.
