Aterlier A.B.D. architecture and project office was founded by ing. arch. Darek Dupal (* 1964 České Budějovice) and ing. arch. Vladimír Bidlo (* 1965 Prague).

Both partners, who are graduates of the Czech University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture, in Prague (1982-1988), got together in 1988 in the SURPMO Prague studio in Žižkov (working on building reconstruction projects in Malá Strana - Jánský vršek in the studio of ing. Steiner and ing. Krausová) and they subsequently worked together in the architect Heinz Lemberger´s office in Vienna (arch. Dupal 1989 - 1992, arch. Bidlo 1990 - 1994) where they collaborated on a number of projects in Austria and abroad (the reconstruction and completion of a building on Getreidemarkt - Vienna, Dornermarkt shopping centre - Vienna, Bratislava shopping centre, Tanzschule Dorner - Vienna, the competition for EXPO 92 Vienna, Austria´s stands at exhibitions in Poznan, Poland and Moscow, a spa hotel in Semmerink and a number of loft conversion projects).
