PVA (Prague Exhibition Centre in Letnany) was established in January 1998 as a result of a two-stage competition, held to find a partner to Prague City Council for the development of the building and operation of the new Prague exhibition area. PVA is a joint-stock company owned by Prague the capital of the Czech Republic, and ABF a.s.

As commissioned by PVA a.s., ABF has implemented the preliminary stage of the scheme, the Provisional Exhibition Area PVA Letnany. The first successful event held there was the International Building Fair, FOR ARCH '98, in September 1998. The objective of the PVA is to establish suitable conditions for large and important fairs to be held in Prague. The town-planning and architectural concepts which are now being implemented meet the requirements for flexibility laid down for the exhibition areas. The basic configuration is expected to include a gross exhibition space of 23 000 m 2, including an imposing entrance hall. The new exhibition area is also intended to have a faster Internet connection.
