We stayed at the Hotel U Brany for 4 nights in mid-December 2006.

My husband and I both live in Australia. Last year we started planning our wedding in Prague and came across lots and lots of listings of Prague hotels. We chose U Brany, probably because of the way they responded to our emails, always promptly and always providing all the information requested.

Having to organize a wedding and invite people from about 5 different countries I had to hassle the hotel on numerous occasions but I always received a polite reply!

The Hotel turned out to be better than what I imagined. We have not seen such spacious hotel rooms before (actually, going on a honeymoon in Vienna after the Prague wedding, paying triple the price per night there gave us a much much smaller room).

The breakfast was very hearty, it included everything from yoghurts to cooked eggs and sausages.
The restaurant provided very good food.

All of our guests stayed in the hotel with us. We had our wedding reception there as well and I am grateful to the restaurant management and the staff for making it so special for us. The portions were very generous (our guests still talk about the duck for the main course!) and very well presented.

It is about 10-20 minutes (of course, depending on how fast you walk) from the Old Town, in the heart of Mala Strana, on a beautiful Nerudova Street. My mum can't walk long distances but even she managed a bit of an uphill walk from the Charles Bridge to the hotel - so most people should have no problems with it. It is even possible to park one's car right in front of the hotel, which was an advantage for some of our guests.

We would highly recommend this hotel.
