Vacancy description

Manages the payroll operations of a newly established Corporate Shared Services (CSS) Center. Responsible for ensuring quality service to customer base, within established service levels (SLA) and budgets.


Role accountabilities will include:


·         Manages the preparation, processing, documentation, and disbursement of payroll checks and payroll taxes for customer base to ensure timely and accurate payments. Provides guidance and expertise to payroll staff and other appropriate parties.


·         Oversees time entry processes to ensure employee understanding of, and compliance with CSC time entry policies and standards.


·         Oversees withholding of applicable payroll taxes, social contributions, deductions for benefits and other programs to ensure government compliance and timely/accurate third party remittance.


·         Monitors changes to automated payroll systems to ensure records and payments are accurate and current.


·         Manages any irregular employee payments such as sales draws and bonuses to ensure adherence to company budgets and policies


·         Manages the compilation and filing of required reports for governmental agencies, insurance providers, other companies, and employees to comply with government or other reporting requirements.


·         Serves as liaison with other departments, units, or locations to resolve payroll issues and concerns.


·         Oversees the preparation and timely distribution of year-end tax statements for employees and vendors.


·         Develops, and monitors departmental performance against budgets and service levels (SLAs)


·         Selects and hires departmental employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work products. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees, including awarding pay increases, bonuses, and promotions within established budgets and guidelines.


·         Maintains positive relations with key customer representatives.


Requirements


·         University degree in business administration, accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.


·         Several years of accounting or payroll experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial capacity


·         Experience working with payroll and tax laws of mulitple European countries


·         Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software.


·         Experience working with tax forms and processing.


·         Good personal computer and business solutions software skills. Experience using SAP HCM for payroll processing strongly preferred.


·         Good communications skills to interact with employees and senior management.


·         Good analytical and problem solving skills.


·         Good interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with other departments and for answering employee questions.


·         Good leadership skills to train and oversee staff.


·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


·         Must be fluent in English, additional language skills are an advantage
