Rock For People 2011
with Paramore, Pendulum, My Chemical Romance & more
The Rock For People
team have been in action since 1995 - a mere two years since the
county received its independence, leaving behind Czechoslovakia and
returning to its roots as the Czech Republic – and throughout this
period they’ve curated and developed each year’s event to surpass it’s
predecessor, leading the festival to blossom at a similar rate to the
Czech economy. And, with 30,000 attendees expected this year the event
has now become one of the biggest festivals in Central Europe.
This year’s line up pulls no punches with the bookings. Expect undiluted
rock on the main stage with headliners Paramore, My Chemical Romance,
Bullet for My Valentine and Pendulum staking Rock for People’s claim to
the title of the Czech Republic’s most progressive festival line up.
Throughout the event there’s scope for an education in the Czech music
scene and the opportunity to enjoy slightly more diverse sounds from
acts such as Bright Eyes, The Streets, White Lies, Digitalism, the
Qemists, Kele and the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.

Housed on an old Soviet airfield in the city of Hradec Králové, 100 Km
east of Prague, the festival site boasts three main arenas; comprised
of two generous outdoor stages and one housed in a former aircraft
hangar. With fields and lakes complimented by the convenient amenities
of banks, supermarkets and, should you require it, hotels the location
of RfP in the city of Hradec Králové seems an ideal location to welcome
in attendees from across the continent.
Travel to the event is easy; Prague airport boasts great connections
across Europe and from there it’s just a short train journey to Hradec
Králové, with festival busses ready to ferry the masses to the festival
site. If you’re travelling to the event from outside the Czech Republic
and the idea of transporting all your camping goods just doesn’t
appeal then help is at hand as you can book a fully prepared tent from
Nestle or Kempingski for two people costing only 40 Euros. Did I
mention that the price includes breakfast?

Tickets for Rock For People cost just 65 EUR for a full 4 day pass and are available from http://ticketsforpeople.cz/,
camping costs just 200 CZK per person and with beers starting at
around 1 EUR a pint Rock for People not only promises to deliver a good
time but could also be the best financial decision you made this year!
Rock For People takes place from July 2nd – July 5th 2011, full details of the line up can be found here .
